For the second year running this tiny, resourceful and successful Caribbean country has been acclaimed by the prestigious Financial Times group as having the top CBI programme in the world.
Of the 13 citizenship by investment (CBI) programmes that operate around the world Dominica leads the industry by achieving 90% of the seven pillars against which each programme is assessed; scoring perfect marks in five of the seven categories.
Following on from the 2017 CBI Index results, Dominica remains the world’s best economic citizenship jurisdiction as a result of maintaining high levels of timeliness and simplicity in process, a competitive and affordable investment threshold, and a robust due diligence framework.
This result is a testament to this small Caribbean nation’s CBI programme, particularly having withstood the challenges and damage caused by last year’s devastating Hurricane, Maria. Following on from this Dominica, with the whole hearted support of the United Nations, drew up plans to rebuild their infrastructure in such a way that it would better withstand future damage caused by the impact of climate change. A significant part of the rebuilding has been financed by Dominica’s CBI programme. An excellent example of this is the recent announcement that the construction of 5,000 new homes will be financed entirely by their CBI programme.
Not content with providing the world’s best CBI programme, Dominica has recently received widespread international accolades for their upcoming ban on a wide range of plastic and Styrofoam products. ‘Dominica prides itself as the ‘Nature Isle’. We must in every way deserve and reflect that designation,” said Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit recently.
Obtaining a safe and secure 2nd citizenship with a Caribbean passport has become a crucial requirement for many high worth individuals from around the world and in particular the Middle East, the Indian sub-continent and Far East. The Commonwealth of Dominica has proved yet again that it leads the way in providing a competitive, safe and affordable investment programme.
